[Seeking Advice] botnet-based monetization on affiliate networks

My partner is proposing the purchase of a botnet to be used as an extra method of monetization for generating traffic on affiliate networks.

While I'm not well-versed in this subject, it appears to me that there were numerous complexities associated with it, and it seems that this strategy has lost its effectiveness for the past couple of years.. So I need an advice on it. It will be highly appreciated!

You want to do adfraud i guess ? There are some methods around that prevent adfraud nowdays, but nothing is impossible. You can check 3ve botnet technical analysis and you will get familiar with everything.
Also, look around for some android-based adfraud botnets, they were pretty active last years.
