Next step after gaining access to a VPS/ C Panel

Hello, so lets say I gained accessed to the C Panel of a VPS, it has FTP open but SSH is not enabled, I tried generating ssh public and private keys and using them to ssh into the VPS, but to no success.

My aim is to basically use it as a proxy for scanning for other things, i thought i could use proxychains for it but since I cant ssh into it, that does not seem to work.

Or even for any other use. I cant seem to find any useful thing on these c panels. I mean I can host a malware on here and share those links but then again I thought if I could open a port on here to recieve a shell but again no ssh to be able to do any of that?

Any help or guide on how to use such access for these activities.

upload webshell and run some "bind port" backdoor.
or search the control panel for "cron jobs", "scheduler", or "periodic tasks"

Just another query if you can kindly respond, if I wanted to use any of these c panels to run scans or such, I should do that by using it as a proxy with the webshell I upload, or is there a way to get my tools on it and then run it on the VPS/ c panel itself?

you can execute commands from webshell or from Cron scheduler (if available)
