MAJOR UPDATE:

A. Effective June 1, 2023 OV Code Signing Certificate Key must be generated and stored in a hardware module that meets or exceeds the requirements of FIPS 140-2 Level 2 or Common Criteria EAL4+.
B. Sectigo (ex. Comodo) will adopt these changes starting May 15, 2023

Anyway, my service will find an approach to these changes and will continue providing certificates after the new rules go into effect.

Yes. Also you can extend the certificate after 1 year or order a cerfificate for 2,3 years. (but due to the specifics of Malware, this is more suitable for white projects or if you are so confident in your encrypt)
