Nessus in the Network

Hello guys, anyone here use nessus as vuln scanner after you have initial access?

Lets say that you have logged in with VPN creds, but after running netscan or nmap you dont find much info about the network, so do you think it will be useful to run nessus?

I know i ask a lot of stupid questions, is just my mind keep picturing stupid things!
