& browser (as chrome & firefox) will detect it, maybe older browser will not show anything

That assumes a MITM. This is sending someone to a site that looks like facebook (or something else) on a brand new domain. Unless you use security keys or the domain is a known bad domain, this is phishing and people are screwed

irrelevant as more and more users are using password managers & inbuilt browser password managers
& browser (as chrome & firefox) will detect it, maybe older browser will not show anything

That assumes a MITM. This is sending someone to a site that looks like facebook (or something else) on a brand new domain. Unless you use security keys or the domain is a known bad domain, this is phishing and people are screwed

https://github.com/kgretzky/evilginx2 is a mitm Attack, mostly targets use the dns server from the router, its pretty hard to spoof it, so a mesage will appear.
but if somehow get the victim to change it, its easy.

Some possibilities are available if you have password managers with auto fill features enabled, you can use XSS payload to harvest data in the right environment
