To finish on a strong note this week has been very interesting with the war, marketplaces being hacked & Malware evolving with owners being identified or groups rebranding. This is just a summery of this week more or less with some opinions and speculations included. I Figured I'd sum it of for everyone. I Included some political, technological, Malware, and dark web news.
- Conti Ransomware has disbanded & Dissolved into smaller groups.
- Thanos & Jigsaw Ransomware's owner has been identified by the US DOJ as a 55-year old doctor living in south America.
- A dark web drug vendor, failed porn actor has been arrested selling "pressies" or fake pills comprised of a drug 100x more powerful than heroin. (Drug is banned from all current dark web markets due to Drug busts and morals).
- Lapsus$'s leader is fully exposed & Released by UK Police. FuckMox would've been the other member that I could foresee being arrested but it is Unknown.
- Lapsus$ is making a return? I wouldn't seeing the newest development of the group's leader who is and I'm not even lying: Arion Kurtaj the 16 year old autistic teenager living in Oxford (There's a new development fully disclosing everything).
- The Versus Project Dark Web Market is hacked by /u/threesixty & confirmed by Alphabay's Admin DeSnake & further confirmed by /u/Paris (Dread's Admin).
- Hunter Biden is being accused by Russian authorities to have helped Ukraine to develop Anthrax which may or may not be deployed.
- Russian Troops are making great gains in Ukraine, Meanwhile the president of Ukraine clearly doesn't understand Russian history in world wars.... Not surprising seeing America doesn't even know about 9/11 or the holocaust.
- Microsoft renames a family of malicious software to "cryware" or Crypto Malware which pisses the entire Infosec community off because classifying malware is already hard enough?
- Multiple Dark web markets are experiencing closures due to "it being time" or "security breaches"
- Cl0p slams a school with ransomware.
- food shortages are seen globally.
- Elon Musk is negotiating the twitter deal due to "Twitter Bots" that spread scams, misinformation and what not.
- Trump asks Vladimir Putin to dig up more "dirt on the Biden family" - (I'm glad Russia liberated the evidence from Ukraine, this will be interesting to see over the next 2 years).
- According to US Politicians a conversation of a Russian Oligarch is being passed around that Vladimir Putin has blood cancer, and when at a meeting he didn't eat or drink anything. Yes, because poisoning hated politicians isn't a thing.
- Ukraine holds their first trial for war crimes, however this will be short lived as Ukraine has lost another ~950 people from a city, leaving it with only over a 1000 people.
