I've managed to gain RCE access to my competitor's website and want to ensure they can't recover their online presence. What's the most effective way to achieve this?

My current plan is to upload child porn content and then file an abuse report with their domain registrar (Namecheap) to get the domain suspended. Are there any more effective or creative strategies you can suggest?

First, I would suggest you consult with Jesus.

If that doesn't work, then I'd get way more creative than that. What will getting their host or domain suspended achieve? They will just recreate and rehost somewhere else - no real loss. And they will say that a hacker did it. Whoopdeedoo. Big achievement bozo (not).

No, if you really want to get even, you would plan this out over for weeks, months even.

Data loss is a piffle. But reputational and image damage? Now we're talking.

You could try SEO poisoning. If they're serving documents, they are now serving documents with malware. You could even code some random redirects to porn sites for some of the pages (but randomly, like 1 in 10 visitors).

Personally? I'd go for more subtler things. Like changing or planting bad reviews or altering the copy on the website to say things that would turn off their customers. Not something too big. Maybe like, "we don't serve folks of colour" or "no LGBTQA+ allowed here". You know, little things like that. Adjust to their market. Make it gradual. If you have access to their online profiles, I'd start posting slightly off-kilter stuff there as well. Things that would embarrass them. Dig up some dirt and make a content plan. Find out when the founders are sleeping and post exactly then. Then clean-up in the morning.

Slowly but surely, you will drive them nuts and their image will take a dump. The key here is to not be too obvious, and to not rush. You want to mix truth with fiction. Proper black PR. Calculated moves, not "big-bang" amateur events (which don't really achieve anything and will only point the finger at you). If you do a good job, you won't ever have to take down anything. They will want to take it down themselves. Win the war in the head, not on their var/www/.
