WiFi Replacing Fixed router antennas with High gain antennas

I have a router with non-detachable antennas with a gain of 5dbi, i want to replace these antennas with a high gain antenna of 13dbi, and i wanna do this by soldering straight to the mother board. Is this Method gonna work? Recomendations on how best i can do this are welcome.
