WiFi Hacking through Wifi Hotspot

I'd like to know how hack people through a fake WiFi hotspot. So they would connect and I'd get their login info and saved passwords i.e. cookies etc

Is that an Evil Twin, a Man in the middle attack?
Which device should I use, rooted android, linux PC?

I would also recommend the Wifipineapple Mark VII. Excellent for MitM attacks, spoofing, phishing campaign, etc. Fully automated with reporting as well. Create a login/landing page mimicking your local Starbucks, sit back, and watch those credentials come in!

The Evil WIFI we created is an open network, because the encryption method is different, the mobile phone will not be connected automatically. If there is a way to make the Evil WIFI network and the target WIFI password the same
