Dear Forum Administration,

I recently received a warning to immediately remove "#Free Palestine" from my signature and status, or risk being blocked, due to an objection raised by one of the moderators. However, I would like to mention that this phrase has not been previously flagged by any administrator during our previous interactions. The phrase, "#Free Palestine" represents a heartfelt expression of empathy towards a suffering nation rather than a political statement.
Could you kindly provide further clarification on this matter?

Thank you.

I am not the administration, but I will respond from my perspective as I see it. The forum is apolitical; it's not a place for discussing geopolitical issues or attempting to support one nation or another. People from many countries are gathered here, including from Israel and Palestine, and someone might disagree with your statement, which could lead to mutual aggression and the fomenting of interethnic discord. This is unnecessary for everyone.

The statement "Free Palestine" is considered a political expression. It is frequently used in the context of the long-standing conflict between Israel and Palestine, typically signifying support for the Palestinian people in their quest for national self-determination and independence. This phrase is part of a broader discourse on human rights, international law, and regional politics in the middle east.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your perspective on this matter. I respectfully disagree with your characterization of "#Free Palestine" as solely a political statement.

"#Free Palestine" is first and foremost a plea for peace, justice, and freedom for a group of people who have suffered greatly over several decades. It is not true that individuals use this slogan to express political views, its essence taps into universal emotions such as compassion and solidarity. In fact, countless ordinary citizens around the world employ similar phrases to voice concern about various social causes without necessarily engaging in polarizing debates.

Moreover, assuming certain expressions based on perceived political connotations sets a precedent that could potentially stifle open dialogue within the community.

Similarly, assertions like "someone might disagree with your statement, which could lead to mutual aggression and the fomenting of interethnic discord" create an environment where constructive conversations cannot take place. By implying that different perspectives automatically result in hostility, we risk perpetuating division instead of encouraging understanding. Diversity of thought is essential for growth, and our collective responsibility lies in facilitating these dialogues without stifling opinions based on preconceived assumptions.

I agree with the moderator's decision. The "#FreePalestine" movement is an infection, and it shouldn't be tolerated. Not to mention, this forum is apolitical and solely related to security and hacking.

I in no way have anything against Palestine, but our forum is a technical, not a socio-political platform. We have no place to discuss politics, even ours, Russian, not to mention Palestine. Why? Everything is very simple. This allows forum members to be friends rather than fight. After all, the situation in the world is difficult now, and many people have opposing views on the same events. We are a technical forum. Therefore, the moderator is right.
