Couple of years back when I was experimenting with stripe, I was passing vanillas and they still closed it. I would assume the same for square since after a while, the system notices all transactions being from gift cards and flags it as high risk.

I wouldn't waste my time on stripe or square if you are going to create it yourself. However, aged merchants is a different story and if anyone has a connect that is reliable, I know how to work them.
